Continuing the path you've paved.
Camino Capital is a small, hands-on team looking to acquire one business and keep building what you started. We think of this as a path, not a finish line: the plan is to keep walking the road you've already paved, thoughtfully and for the long run. If you've spent years building something worth continuing, we'd love to talk.
On the Camino de Santiago, the walk the fund is named for.
A small team, built around one job
A house we passed along the Camino, still standing, still cared for.
Camino Capital is a small team, an operator and a group of investors, built around one goal: acquiring a single business and building on what's already there. We're not managing a portfolio, and we're not counting down to an exit.
Gerardo de la Garza is the person who'd be closely involved in the business day to day once a deal closes. If you'd like to stay on in some capacity, that's a conversation we're glad to have. He's backed by investors and advisors who've bought, built, and grown companies of their own, and who stay involved well past the closing table.
Before this, Gerardo spent his career in finance and operating roles, the practical work of keeping a growing company organized, financed, and running well. It's the same kind of work most businesses our size actually need most.
The name has two starting points. Camino was the street where Gerardo and his wife lived when they were first married, and it's also the Camino de Santiago, the centuries-old trail across Spain the two of them walked together. The photo alongside this is one of the old stone houses they passed, still standing decades after whoever built it first laid the stones. Both feel like the right idea here. We're not looking to buy something and sell it. We're looking to keep walking a path someone else started, and to walk it well.
What it's like to work with us
Most inbound interest in a business comes from strategic buyers looking to fold it into something bigger, or financial buyers planning their own exit in a few years. We're neither. Here's what that means for you.
We learn your business first
Before we ever talk numbers, we want to understand what you built, why you built it, and what matters most to you about how it continues.
We'd rather meet in person
We'd rather visit your business early in the conversation than negotiate everything over email. It's the best way for us to actually understand what you've built.
We think in years, not quarters
There's no fund cycle pushing us toward a quick sale. Our plan is to keep walking the road you've already paved, one season at a time.
Your role after closing is up to you
Some owners want to stay involved after closing. Others are ready for what's next. We shape the transition around what actually works for you.
What selling to us actually looks like, next to the alternatives
We'd rather be upfront about the tradeoffs than pretend there aren't any. A private equity firm or a strategic buyer can sometimes pay more. Here's what else is different.

From first call to closing
Every deal moves at its own pace, but the shape of the process is usually the same.
30-Minute Intro Call
A short call to get to know each other, hear about your goals, and decide whether it makes sense to keep talking. No pitch, just a conversation.
Mutual NDA
We will sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and request basic financial information to better understand your business and provide an initial sense of value.
Indicative Offer
Based on your numbers, we put together a preliminary, non-binding offer and proposed structure for you to react to.
Diligence & Agreement
A focused diligence process and a definitive purchase agreement, run on a timeline that respects your business and your time.
Closing & Transition
How the handoff actually happens is up to you, some owners like sticking around for a season, others are ready to hand over the keys right away. Whichever it is, we build the plan around that and keep your team steady through the change.
The kind of business we're looking to acquire
These are guidelines, not hard cutoffs. If your business is close on most of these, it's worth a conversation.
Not sure if your business fits? The easiest way to find out is a short, no pressure call.
Let's start with a confidential conversation
Whether you're actively considering a sale or simply curious what a conversation would look like, reaching out doesn't commit you to anything.
All conversations are treated as confidential from the first email. I typically reply within a day or two.
